I Was Humming Taylor Swift Songs All the Way Home

Which was appropriate, since this was kind of a "love story" for me.

I had an absolute blast photographing Britney and Brooke last week. These girls know how to have fun. At times I would forget I was there to do a job, and would suddenly want to throw down my camera and belt out tunes with them while spinning in circles or doing double dutch with the jump rope.

This session totally took me back to being nine years old; dancing to my Whitney Houston cassette tapes, playing store in my room (I really was fond of writing receipts), wearing Dr. Pepper lip gloss and practicing the Running Man and the Cabbage Patch Kid (sadly, I never mastered that ... it was predicative of my current dance skills ... my husband can vouch for that).

A happy tear or two might have escaped on the ride home from this session.

Thank you Britney and Brooke, for inviting me to hang out with you for the afternoon. I had a great time with you girls! I hope you all enjoy the sneak peek from your session ... and just so you guys know, I finally uploaded Taylor Swift onto my ipod - thanks to you! :)

We started off pretty calm ... quiet reading time in the girls' room, with sweet little Sadie, their new puppy.

Quiet time did not last too long.

"WHO LIKES TAYLOR SWIFT?!" In case you cannot tell, Brooke - on the left - is somewhat of a fan.
We played a little as Taylor's music blared out the front door ...

Brooke loves to write, Britney loves art ...

Both girls are so talented musically ...

(Favorite part of this photo ... the sweet little toes curling in her tights.)

The end.

Four Men and A Little Lady

This was a really difficult session.

Why, you ask?

Well, because it is pretty hard to operate your camera properly when you are shaking with the giggles. And the tears from laughter are making your mascara drip into your eyes.

The B. Family are great friends of ours, and I was so excited to photograph them. I adore this family. Mom has talked me down from "the mommy ledge" many times, the boys are amazing, and dad ... well dad is okay when he is not causing camera-user malfunction.

B Family, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I loved meeting with you guys, and I promise to don the waterproof Great Lash next time!

Love, love, love this one!

Keeping It Simple

I was so excited when Mom to these three cuties contacted me with a very specific shoot request. She wanted simple black and whites of Katelyn, Jessie and Ethan to print big for her home. I love simple shots like this, that really draw your attention to the kids, their expressions and their personalities, so I was more than happy to oblige!

S. family, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to goof and be silly with your kiddos! I had so much fun working with them. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Jessie ...

Ethan ...

Katelyn ...

You can totally tell that these two are twins ... right?

This one made me laugh!

And a little color too ... :)

My Walls Are Excited!

I just had to share these three shots, because OBVIOUSLY they are the cutest kids you have ever seen, right???

Okay, so maybe I am biased, as I did give birth to them. But I am so excited to print these BIG for our walls. They have been crying out for some attention (my walls, not my kids!) and I can't wait to get these up there.

Happy Monday everyone! :)

~ Sweet Reese ~

I had so much fun at today's session! Little Reese is not quite two weeks old, and she is just the sweetest little peanut. She slept like a champ too, which surprised me because mom just had me busting up laughing for most of the session. Reese is so lucky to have such fun parents. :)

B family, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I can't wait to show you the rest!

Love this little pumpkin hat!

"Excuse me! I have a question!"

Thank you Reese, Mom and Dad! :)

~*~ Luke ~*~

I had a blast today with little Luke and his family! I use the term "little" loosely, since Luke is already tipping the scales at over 9 pounds. He is a sturdy baby boy, and let me know it when I tried to coax him into posing for me, haha! Luke was a great sleeper, and we got some beautiful shots today. Thank you M family for a wonderful afternoon! Luke is an absolute doll, congrats to all of you!

I had to have fun with this one ... Mom told me that big sis took a liking to the What to Expect series while waiting for Luke's arrival. So we dug into the bookshelves for these, haha! :)

Little Miss Busy

I had a fun session last weekend with adorable little Peyton and her family. Peyton sure gave me a run (and by run, I mean RUN) for my money! She is a girl on the go, and had me sweating by the time our session was over! I could not get enough of her darling little curls, and must have commented on them at least, oh, 462 times.

"And here is Daddy's eye ..."

I told you! I was obsessed with them, haha! ...

Peyton let me know when the session was over, by popping out the iphone and launching into a chat session. I am pretty sure that Gymboree was the topic of discussion...
G family, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek! Thanks for such a wonderful session!
